The Town of Newmarket (The Owner) is inviting proposals from experienced and responsible Contractors to establish Standing Offers with qualified Contractors for the provision of General Repair and Contracting Services to be carried out on an as needed basis at various Town of Newmarket facilities, parks and trails, Libraries and Central York Fire Services (CYFS) Facilities located in the Town of Newmarket and Aurora, including all labour, materials and equipment required to complete all assigned tasks and projects. The Owner is responsible for approximately fifty (50) buildings and facilities that provide a number technical, operational, and recreational services as well as several parks and trails, which are at varying lifecycle stages and require various periodical repairs and maintenance. The successful Contractor(s) will be expected to collaborate with Town staff as well as term contractors and third party consultants on occasion, as required and as instructed by the Town for the successful completion of assigned tasks and projects. The onus is on the successful Contractor(s) to ensure they have adequate staff and equipment to effectively carry out work as required by the Owner. The Owner reserves the right to solicit other bids for related work at the sole discretion of the Owner. The Town of Newmarket requires the successful Contractor(s) to provide services in a cost effective, operationally satisfactory and safe manner, and to conduct high quality work to the satisfaction of the Owner, in accordance with the terms and conditions of the Contract. The supply of Goods and/or Services is subject to the approval by Council of the Budget estimates to meet the proposed expenditures. The facilities and general scope of work should not be construed as limiting the scope of work of the Contract. This Standing Offer will establish a list of up to five (5) qualified General Contractors in accordance with the evaluation in Part II of the RFP. Work will be assigned when and as required by the Owner in accordance with Part 1, section 1.3. The General Contractors, in performing the work, shall provide all labour, materials and equipment required to complete all assigned tasks and projects. Typical work includes but is not limited to: i. Parks and Facility fencing installation, replacement and repair, including but not limited to wood, aluminum, chain link and metal; ii. Exterior Hardscape installation, replacement, modifications or repairs, such as concrete sidewalks and curbs, interlocking pavers, flagstone, and exterior furnishings; iii. Concrete repairs, including forming, placing and finishing; iv. Framing of partitions and other structures such as decking, gazebos, both indoors and outdoors; v. Flooring replacement, repairs and maintenance, including but not limited to carpeting, ceramic tiles and grout, vinyl tiles and sheet flooring, hardwood, epoxy coatings, concrete floor sealing, etc.; vi. Cabinetry, and various specialty projects; vii. Drywall installation and repairs, including mudding, taping and sanding; viii. Painting, interior and exterior, including all associated substrate preparation work; ix. Suspended ceiling tile system installation, replacement and repair; x. Installation of shelving systems and other accessories; xi. Other similar associated work. |
