Description: |
The Town of Newmarket is proud of its reputation for delivering and ensuring quality services and programs to our residents. The Town is committed to making Newmarket even better, by creating meaningful, engaging, and accessible recreation experiences balanced with natural and cultural heritage preservation. The Town will achieve this by ensuring its planning processes and strategies focus on meeting the needs of all residents while creating a vibrant and sustainable community by connecting people through ideas, technology and neighbourhoods. In 2018, the Town of Newmarket purchased approximately 4.6-hectare of land known as the Mulock Estate located at the northwest corner of the Yonge Street and Mulock Drive intersection. This signature property, is being re-examined in a comprehensive manner to establish an iconic, signature park space that celebrates the historic significance of the property.
The Town is seeking proposals from qualified landscape architecture-led consultant teams for the preparation of a Concept Master Plan for the 4.6 ha Mulock Estate property as shown below. The consultant team shall should also be aware that there are immediately-adjacent Town-owned lands in the form of a park (Jim Bond Park), and, as such, consultants shall consider and address the manner in which the Town should best address this situation (e.g. include Jim Bond Park or not include Jim Bond Park). For clarity, the term “subject site” is used in this RFP to refer to the Mulock Estate Property only.
